[ARCHIVED] Hurst Creek MUD issues boil water notice

Because of a water main break at Hurst Creek Municipal Utility District’s main intake on Lake Travis, the district is notifying all its customers they need to boil their water before consumption until further notice.
Hurst Creek MUD primarily serves the residents of the Village of The Hills.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled before use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other potable source.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify the public that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.
For more information, visit www.hurstcreekmud.org or contact the district at 512-261-6281.
