At the regular City Council meeting on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, City Council approved Mayor Tom Kilgore’s nomination of Judge Michele L. Locke to the position of presiding judge overseeing Lakeway Municipal Court. Judge Locke was appointed Associate Judge in 2019, and reappointed in 2021.

“We are excited to have Judge Locke as our new presiding judge for the City of Lakeway,” said Mayor Tom Kilgore. “Her many years as a judge and practicing attorney will be an asset to our City and we are happy to have her lead our municipal court.”

Judge Locke is a former El Paso Family Law Associate Court Judge and former presiding judge over a Domestic Violence Court. During her tenure as associate judge for the City of Lakeway, she has had the opportunity to preside over the Child Protective Services Court. She is also a practicing attorney with a focus on family law litigation.
