Faberge-style Eggs
LAC Member Katina Koulakis has always been artistic and enjoys working in a variety of mediums including oils and charcoals. Her creativity went to a whole new level after she became enamored by a collection of Fabergé’s eggs she saw on exhibit at a museum in Florida.
After that, she began to create her own collection using real eggs with techniques in carving, painting, decoupage’…as well as embellishing with beads, ribbons, Swarovski crystals and more!
She submitted some of her eggs in a state-wide competition. The First Lady, Laura Bush invited contestant winners from each state to display their art at the White House.
A sampling of Katina’s collection is now on exhibit in the LAC Lobby Exhibit Display case now through April 15. Stop by and check out the amazing eggs, from small wild birds to large Emu, so you may see how beautifully they have been embellished in a variety of fashions.
