EV Charging Station

You’ve no doubt noticed the fast-growing number of electric vehicles (EVs) on our roadways. Residents of Lakeway and the surrounding communities are turning to EVs to reduce fossil fuel consumption and the air pollution it produces.  In 2019, Lakeway used a grant from The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to install one of the area’s first EV charging stations as part of the city’s commitment to The Central Texas Clean Air Coalition.

The station is centrally located behind the popular Lakeway Swim Center near the Canyonlands trail head, the World of Tennis condominiums and sports center, and Serene Hills Elementary School. To use the facility, you’ll need to set up an account with the city’s partner, ChargePoint, at https://www.chargepoint.com/drivers .

Next time you visit the area, park in the EV slot and charge up!  The nominal $2/hr rate maintains the facility and helps track air quality benefits.
