The Wildflowers Chorus is a group of women who sing 4-part a cappella music in the barbershop style. Started in 2002 by two Lakeway women who had enjoyed singing this kind of music before moving to Lakeway, the group has grown to over 30 members who perform at local functions and special events. They sing all kinds of music-Christmas, patriotic, gospel, love songs--old favorites and more contemporary songs. With the leadership of their dynamic director, Adam Poynor, who is the director of the music program at LTISD, they have become a popular group that sings for many local events. However, their mission remains the same as it was in the beginning: to have fun while growing in friendship and musical and performance skills.
The chorus rehearses weekly on Tuesdays from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Lakeway Activity Center. They welcome guests who might be interested in joining.
