Public Notices
Section 551.002 of the Texas Local Government Code provides that every regular, special, or called meeting of a governmental body shall be open to the public. Section 551.031 provides that notices must adhere to the following:
- Be posted at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled time of the meeting
- Be in writing and clearly state the date, hour, place, and subject of each meeting
- Be posted in two locations:
- on a bulletin board convenient to the public in City Hall, located at 1102 Lohmans Crossing
- on the the City of Lakeway website
In some cases, additional public notice may be required such as mail notification to all surrounding property owners within 200' of the subject property including the opportunity for those notified to comment on the specific request.
